We have converted our Audio Bibles for use with the Library of Congress, Digital Talking Book Player. Our complete Audio Bibles (both Old & New Testaments) fit on a single 2GB cartridge.
However, we are unable to provide individuals with blank cartridges at this time.
- Blank cartridges can be sent to us (Free Matter for the Blind) and loaded with the language/version of your choice and returned to you. Our mailing address is Audio Bibles for the Blind, PO Box 621, Bradenton, FL 34206. Here is a website that sells blank NLS cartridges.

Navigation of our Audio Bibles for the Digital Talking Book
We are often asked how to navigate our Audio Bibles by Books, Chapters & verse. We load and send each Audio Bible in what is typically called “Level 1″ and “Level 2″ navigation. How this works for you, really depends on which Digital Talking Book player model you have. There are two ways to find which model you have.
The first is by the reading the plate located on the bottom of the player. If the model says DS1, you have the standard model, which is the most common player sent by the LOC (Library of Congress). If the model says DA1, you have the advanced model. The second way to tell which model you have is if you have a row of buttons titled (from left to right) “Info”, “Prev”, “Menu”, “Next” & “Mark”. These buttons run horizontally under the speaker of the player.
The DS1 only has navigation by using the FF (fast forward) button. The longer you hold this button down, the more time it will skip by. If you hold it down til the player says “skip by chapter”, it will skip by Books of the Bible. We are often asked, “why by Books of the Bible and not by Chapters”. Imagine you wanted to go from Genesis chapter 1 to Psalms 23 … you would have to hold that button down through 501 skip points … if you wanted to get to Revelations chapter 1 from Genesis, you’d have to hold for 1,167 skip points. This is why most agree that navigation by Book of the Bible is the easiest way to navigate quickly.
The DA1 has additional buttons that allow the user to skip by Book of the Bible by pressing the “Menu” button for “Level 1 Jump” then pressing the “Next” button to skip by book. Pressing the “Menu” button twice for “Level 2 Jump” will allow you to then skip by Chapter of that current Book. Pressing the “Menu” additional times will let you skip by “phrase” & “paragraph”, as well as, using the FF (fast forward) button to help get you closer to the verse you are looking to find.
If you have a DS1, but wish you had a DA1 to allow for easier navigation, you will need to contact your local library or with the facility/individual that helped you get qualified for your Digital Talking Book player and ask them if they can help you swap your DS1 for a DA1.
